How to set up your business profile
This is your first bit of housekeeping, and it only takes a minute.
- Click … More in the menu.
- Go to Settings → Business for business settings
- Go to Settings → Preferences for invoice and quote preferences
- Go to Settings → Finance for bank accounts, VAT, and other accounting settings
Start with what’s required
Every invoice needs certain details to be valid.
Settings → Business
- Business name: your trading name or registered company name
- Address: this will be added to your invoices
- Registration number, if applicable
Settings → Finance
- Bank account. Link your account and tick “Show on invoice” so customers always know where to pay you.
- VAT Number — only required if you’re VAT registered.
Make your invoices look professional
Next, add the details that make your paperwork feel credible and on-brand:
Settings → Business
- Business logo — upload it once and stub adds it to every invoice or quote.
Add the finishing touches
Finally, add any extras in that make your invoices more personal:
Settings → Preferences
- A short email message, like “Thanks for your business!”
- An invoice note like your payment terms or refund policy.
- Any other notes you want to appear automatically.
Getting this set up properly once saves you time later. It keeps your invoices compliant, your business credible, and your payments flowing smoothly.
💡 TIP: Not VAT-registered yet? Leave the VAT field blank for now. You can always add it later when you register. stub will automatically start showing VAT details on your invoices once it’s added.
